The S.A.F.E. Center

In 1978, three individuals assessed the domestic violence needs in Buffalo County and formed the Task Force on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. This was renamed in 1985 and is now known as The Spouse/Sexual Abuse Family Education (S.A.F.E.) Center.  In addition to serving Buffalo County, the counties of Franklin, Harlan, Kearney and Phelps were added to the service area.  In 2018, The S.A.F.E. Center is celebrating 40 years of listening to the voices of survivors and providing proactive services to end violence in our community.
