Pin the Town Purple

October 5-31, 2026

S.A.F.E Center

This October, The S.A.F.E. Center is Pinning the Town Purple for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Hundreds of purple beaded friendship pins have been handmade by S.A.F.E. Center staff, board members, volunteers, students, and community partners. Beginning the week of October 5, you’ll find them at businesses and locations throughout Kearney.

When you see one, take one.
Pin it to your jacket, bag, lanyard, hat, or wherever you’ll wear it, and help us make purple visible throughout our community. The pins are a simple way to start conversations about domestic violence, show support for survivors, and remind one another that safety belongs everywhere.

Wear Purple Day | October 15
Keep your pin handy for Wear Purple Day on Thursday, October 15. Wear purple, wear your pin, and help us turn Kearney purple.

If you pick up a pin, we’d love to see it. Snap a photo and tag The S.A.F.E. Center on social media.
